FISCHER FIELD
Welcome to
FISCHER FIELD
THESE PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS WILL BRING FISCHER FIELD FACILITIES TO THE NEXT LEVEL.
INTRODUCTION
Jefferson Baseball, the Jefferson Blue Devils, and the Jefferson Community Foundation are raising money to make improvements at Jefferson’s Fischer Field. The fundraising goal is to build a new concession stand, including ADA-accessible restrooms, a press box, and a seating plaza area behind home plate. All of these improvements will be utilized by all of the Jefferson Community baseball teams and their fans.
Recently, the School District of Jefferson, Jefferson Blue Devils, and the Jefferson Eagle Athletic Booster Club, in addition to other sponsors, made significant investments to improve Fischer Field.
The improvements funded and completed by the School District of Jefferson include new dugouts, fencing, a four-pole backstop netting system, and new landscaping around the dugouts and backstop areas. Doosan Bobcat of Johnson Creek donated labor and equipment to demolish and remove the old dugouts and old fencing on the baselines.
The Jefferson High School baseball team, through private donations and fundraisers, and the Fischer Field fence and scoreboard sponsors, paid for 96 tons of new infield dirt mix to be added and laser graded this past winter. This project also included rebuilding the main mound and both bullpen mounds.
Other improvements include the material and installation of a cement plaza and sidewalk around the current concession stand area as well as landscaping to finish those areas off which was donated by D-N-D Concrete and the Jefferson Blue Devils.
Our teams appreciate these investments in the facility and are excited to raise funds to continue the next phase of projects. The plan includes building a new secure concession building, which will house ADA-accessible restrooms and a press box, and a seating plaza area behind home plate. The City of Jefferson has also approved a project that will allow sidewalks to be installed along Wilson and Dodge Street.
The ultimate goal is to make Fischer Field accessible to all of our patrons. Currently, the areas we would like to update are not ADA-accessible. We are campaigning to amplify the experience, safety, security, and aesthetics of these athletic facilities by improving their accessibility, amenities, and equipment. This will benefit not only the athletes but also the families, friends, and all other spectators who cheer on the Eagles, Blue Devils, and other Jefferson youth teams that play at Fischer Field.
